"there is always a song out there that can help me over the bumps in the road."
Music has saved me numerous times and is such a big part of who I am today. I am the type of person that thinks life should have a soundtrack and that there is always a song out there that can help me over the bumps in the road.
The fact that some kids don’t have school environments that encourage musical education really breaks my heart. This can take away someone’s musical potential and not allow them to do what they love.
Being involved and learning about music at a young age in my school classes really helped me grow not only musically but also as a person. That is why I am giving 10% of the sales from my new single, “Said No One Ever”, to VH1’s Save the Music Foundation. I hope that every kid can one day have the same musical opportunities in school that I had.
The VH1 Save The Music Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to restoring instrumental music education programs in America’s public schools, and raising awareness about the importance of music as part of each child’s complete education. To date, VH1 Save The Music has provided more than $49.5 million in new musical instruments to 1,850 public schools in more than 128 school districts around the country, impacting the lives of over 2.1 million children.
